Hi Mentors,

Thank you for continuing to mentor and expand our impact of getting more early career fellows into tech, now spanning 17 countries! (If you are looking to hire, their contact info and resumes live here)

We have the following volunteering events coming up:

Remember to log your hours for donation credits! Every hour you’ve volunteered can be input into Benevity, Brightfunds or any other giving platform to get rewards (and contribute $40 for each hour for your favorite charity). If you’re looking to donate to ProgramEquity, the following is our EIN number to find/nominate on your giving platform or donate directly here. All funds go to expanding our cohort to pilot our high school program across Native reservations.

🌳 We’re open sourcing tech that restores biodiversity. Earthquakes, wildfires, droughts, all are symptoms of an ecosystem out of balance. We’ve focused on land stewardship for the last 2 years as the most immediate strategy to sequester carbon emissions and restore our planets lungs that the United Nations announced last October. Read more about how preserving biodiversity’s key to decreasing carbon emissions.

For example, this cohort we have been helping California Salmon and Rivers (a collective across Yurok, Hoopa, and Rancheria tribes by the Klamath) collect data for a statewide environmental impact report that is returning keystone species like Chinook salmon across the Klamath, Trinity, American rivers, and more. This is not only a great prevention mechanism for floods but even wildfires that plague us in the fall as the salmon’s lifecycle restores fire resilient plants across our watersheds.
